Frozen food distributor increases competitiveness by reducing electricity costs
Best.Energy South East Europe (SEE), in collaboration with the team from MEGAMIX d.o.o., optimises its operations using monitoring and CUES.
Client Requirements
MEGAMIX was facing rising electricity costs, specifically an increase in their tariff. So they wanted to have insight into the precise consumption of each cold storage unit, so they could have full control over their process.
MEGAMIX therefore decided to implement a system for monitoring and measuring energy consumption on a per unit basis.
30% Savings
Our Solution
We installed energy monitoring equipment and discovered that some of the assets were running unnecessarily. The equipment’s operation was optimised, and further optimisation was achieved through the installation of CUES. This resulted in a 30% reduction in electricity consumption.
Thanks to precise insight into the asset’s operating cycles and automation via the CUES system, it became possible to adapt the equipment’s operation to actual needs, without negatively impacting the workflow. This also resulted in significant monthly financial savings.
The Results
• Reduction of the facility’s electricity consumption by 30%
• Return on investment in up to 6 months
• Automated alarms - compressor monitoring 6 Months
• Weekly reports - continuous monitoring
• 4 Overall energy savings of 10%+ and 20% savings in the cold room consumption
